Looking out for Lily - How we got here...
In late 2019 I approached Andrew Cutting and Kane Jones about forming a band to record, release and perform my original material. On listening to demos that I’d recorded playing all instruments and vocal, they were keen to have a jam.

I then approached Paul Curtis who I’d played with during the ‘90’s and he was also keen to exercise his tonsils.

In February 2020 we had a rehearsal at AGS studios and performed a dozen songs or so that sounded really good considering we’d never played together before.
As Covid 19 hit in March 2020 and the world shut down, our project had to a screaming halt until Sept 2021. By this time Paul had committed to another band and was unable to join us, so after a few rehearsals, we started looking for a singer and through Kane we found Peter Hollow, (currently with The Honey Badgers, winners of the 2022 ARBA Memphis Blues Challenge) who at the time was happy to help us bring the songs to life.
On Australia Day 2022 Peter was able to put down vocals on 9 tracks, including backing vocals on songs that we had recorded in early January 2022. Peter did a great and his recordings were going to be used on the album, but unfortunately, he couldn't join the band on a permanent basis.
As I was preparing to master all 9 tracks, I'd spoken to Paul again, who was now in a situation to help us out, so he put down the main vocals and joined me on the backing vocals and we had it ready to then remix and master. Paul is able to commit to the band, while still performing in his other bands Love Grins and Spirit of Alondray.
Looking Out For Lily was formed with the aim of releasing the 9 track album (late 2022) and performing live in 2023 promoting the new release. More recording are planned during 2023, check us out.
